The Trick To Inspiration

Inspiration (noun) – The process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially to do something creative.

Craving inspiration in every aspect of my life is what keeps my heart alive, searching for adventure in the littlest parts of the world. Tiny moments such as visiting a new city for the first time, taking a long drive in the middle of nowhere blasting your song, singing looking out the window as the sights roll by. Those are the best moments to be a part of. Moments in life have to create some sort of meaning, purpose, inspiration for me. If not, they feel empty to me. Continuously, I am striving to become the best possible version of myself. Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been searching for a sense of inspiration to draw from for new posts on my site. What I didn’t realize was that it is all within my control. Setting new goals for yourself will set in motion plans for the future.

At some point, you run on empty and have to rediscover what inspiration means to you. Try to find that spark inside you to keep pushing, and creating what you want to be your life. Seeing as this happens to a lot of us I have my own steps to becoming inspired again.

Establish Your Why/Purpose – “Ask yourself today if what you are doing today is getting you closer to where you want to be tomorrow”. – Unknown

Switch Up Your Routine – Recharge & have a change of heart towards your space/environment. I try to rearrange my patterns of thought if I am running into roadblocks with being creative sometimes because it’s all in your attitude to what you’re trying to accomplish. A positive outlook changes everything, you just have to be willing to try.

Have An Open Mind – In creating and learning through experience always have an open mind as hard as it may seem in the beginning. Try throughout the creative process to maintain open to any and/or all ideas. You may begin with a simple thought, and it may become a project. Something that may be the smallest idea in your mind may have the biggest impact in another.

Doodle Your Dreams – When I’m stuck on what to create I tend to lean on inspirational quotes on Tumblr (or anywhere really), mood boards I’ve created in the past, or a photo that paints a picture in my mind for my dreams. Having a vision for what I want to accomplish makes my goal that much more important.
